Report from the Trenches

WELL I GUESS ITS MY TURN TO PROMOTE THE "Report from the Trenches" EVENT I WILL BE A PART OF THIS COMING THURSDAY FEB. 21st, 7pm @ THE SCHOOL OF VISUAL ARTS, IN THE AMPITHEATER. YOU CAN EXPECT SUPERSTARS SUCH AS: MIKE CARLO, PHIL RYNDA, & RICK LACY, TALKING ABOUT OUR WORK EXPERIENCES IN THE ANIMATION INDUSTRY...THIS WAS A GOOD EXCUSE TO DO SOME NON-WORK RELATED DRAWING, ITS BEEN A WHILE. I NEVER WAS TOO GOOD AT DRAWING BIG MUSCLE GUYS SO I FIGURED THIS WAS A CHANCE TO POKE FUN AT MYSELF...

It looks like you're pretty good at drawing them to me. That guy's hilarious. Looks like a real meathead!

Congrats on your speaking event. I'd show up to listen for advice, but I missed it.

Oh, and thank you for the props on the strip. If I animate these guys...I'm coming to YOU! :)

Hey Al! Thank you very much for visiting our school yesterday! All of us are really grateful for your insights on the business.

Oh yeah! It was also cool to finally meet the creator the picture I always kept looking at while interning at Animation Collective. The image was randomly posted on the desktop -- the one from your June 18th post with the thin dude looking at "revisions." I couldn't help but laugh while looking at it. It brightened up my day. You're extremely talented! :)

Anyway, I'm rambling on. As I said yesterday, great to see a true Brooklynite representing our field. It's awesome. Good luck with all of your future endeavors.

Your speech was much admired and taken to heart.

Loved the reel man, and just for the record, I do like pie. Apple is on my top 3 list - Cherry doesn't make the cut.
